Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Divorce

My husband and I have been seperated since 2001 and were married less than a year. He moved to California. I am with someone else here in Florida. We were married in Florida. I am not real sure where he is living. And his family won't help me find him. I am also very broke. I am a full time college student who recieves a grant every few months to live on. How can I go about getting a divorce and for as little as possible. I truly can't even afford to put an ad in the local paper. We have no property or children between us, and he said (last i know) he will consent to divorce. I am so lost and I want to move on with my life.

Re: Divorce

A simplified dissolution of marriage should do it. You can go to the Clerk of Court or the local Law Library for the forms. The tricky part is getting him served. You will have to publish and there is a cost.

Since Florida is a "no-fault" divorce state, you need only show the marriage is irretrievably broken. He can fight all he wants, but would lose no doubt.
