Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

If you are a father whose girlfriend leaves the state with your child what is the next step to getting visitation rights or some kind of rights to even know the child and be a part of their life? Would you need to go and sign up and be put on some kind of child support? Is it legal for a mother to do that and never tell anyone where she is? Is that considered kidnapping when the mom takes the child away never to be found? What if the child and mother is found and she is contacted and says it's the child's decision not to have her family that she doesn't know in her life? What can be done to get through to the child and see if that really is their decision? Should you take the steps to be put on child support and risk that it is indeed the child's decision and then you have to pay for a kid that wants nothing to do with you and lives in another state? What are the grandparent's rights? Can they file for some sort of visitation?

There are NO grandparent visitation rights in Florida. As for your custody rights, you need to file in court for custody or visitation. And yes, you have to pay child support even if the child wants nothing to do with you.
