Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Is it possible for a father to give up his rights if it is a mutual agreement? He is not involved and does not provide. I have applied for child support, and have not had a hearing yet. But he no longer asks how he is and has never given me anything to help (no diapers, money, etc). He has visited once when he was 4 months old, for 2 hours. He is not on the birth certificate. If it was a mutual agreement for him to give up his rights, is that possible? I would not want support, just to have him out of our lives for good.

I suggest you discuss with with a family lawyer as to your options. Just because he wants out of child support does not mean that the Judge will even allow it. If I can be of assistance please contact my office for an appointment 904-997-1031
