Does Florida ban on gay adoption violate the equal protection clause of the 14th amendment?

Under the current rulings of the Supreme Court, homosexuality is not a "protected class" and thus not entitled to protection. Thankfully the law is evolving and there are current challenges to Florida's gay adoption law that hopefully will through the law out. But the question on whether it violates the equal protection law has not been decided favorably as of yet.
