Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Florida Department of Revenue

I recently removed the FL Dept of Revenue from enforcement of my child support case. I signed their form which clearly states in the last sentence ''I also understand that this request does not terminate the court order for child support.. They did just that. I went in person to their local office and was told that they did not terminate the order, yet the payroll administrator for my ex has called them twice now and sent me a copy of what they mailed and it is indeed a termination. I cannot afford an attorney. What on earth am I supposed to do now? I was pro se when I took my ex to court to modify support earlier this year. His attorney for lack of a better term was quite inept and never filed an IDO which he agreed to do. I have the DoR call center telling me that the local DoR office did terminate my order. I have the local DoR office trying to tell me they did not, yet I have a copy of the letter and it clearly terminates my support order. I cannot continue to leave work to go down to the DoR office to attempt to straighten out their error which they refuse to admit to. Please tell me what I can do.

Re: Florida Department of Revenue

You'll now have to sue him directly for child support. I know you say you can't afford a lawyer but, since he has one, this may be one of those situations where you can't afford NOT to have a lawyer.
