Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

My husband and I separated approximately, 2 years ago. I filed for divorce in Miami-Dade county which, I have resided in Miami for the last 2 years. A week after my husband was served in Broward County, he filed a separate divorce petition stating our last residence together was in Broward, and is asking the Judge to move the case there.

Is this legal? can a person file another divorce after being served with divorce papers??

Yes. A divorce must be filed in the county where the couple last lived as husband and wife. It sounds like you filed in the county where you live, not where you last lived as husband and wife. Your divorce must be dismissed or transferred to Broward, from what I gather in your question.
