Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

rights

My boyfriend asked me and my kids to move-in with him 21/2 years ago when he bought his house. Now, that I find out he was cheating. Can he evict me and children from his house even though I am paying him money and contributing towards the house?

Yes, if it is his house, he can ask you to leave and if you refuse, he can file for an eviction. Just because you pay rent, it does not provide you the right to live in the house when your landlord (boyfriend) decides that the relationship is over.

You should make plans for an alternate place to reside with your family so that you are not left without a roof over your head when, and if, this happens.

Re: rights

It is still his property and he can legally ask you to leave. I suggest you begin making plans for you and your children immediately so that you are not left without shelter if he decides to ask you to leave.
