Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Sole Custody VS Parental Responsibility?

I have been awarded sole custody of my three children after an 18 year marriage. I can find plently of information as to my rights and responsibilities to the children. My ex-husband on the other hand was awarded shared parental responsibility. What rights does he have in the children's lives and exactly what does that mean? It doesn't appear in any of the legal dictionary that I have looked through.

Thanks

With shared parental responsibility, major decisions affecting the minor child(ren)'s life are made jointly by both parents. This may include, but is not limited to, schooling, non-emergency medical decisions (such as elective surgery), the child's travel, and many other issues. Both parents are entitled to equal say in these issues. The parent with sole custody will make the day to day decisions affecting the child's life and all emergency medical decisions.
