Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

Our neighbor had an extension cord from his window to our outside outlet. We took a picture and then turned the breaker off. We called the police out but the neighbor unplugged it before they arrived. The officer was going to talk to the neighbor. We didn't press charges. Should we do or had done anything else?
