Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

My son who is 11 hit the neighbors rental car and caused 803.33 in damages I am willing to pay this but the neighbors say we also owe 315.00 in administrative fees and loss of value for car. In Florida it states he is only responsible for actual damages per florida law 741.24 I want to send the check for the damages minus the rest certified mail. Is he responsible for those other fees

Not sure what the administrative fees apply to, but the diminution in value of the car can be part of the actual damages. Not sure if loss of value of car is diminution. You can certainly try your technique and letter should state that the funds are sent in full satisfaction of any and all claims. if they cash the check the accord and satisfaction can be applied. If not, you may need to get an attorney involved.
