Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

I would like to know if we had a wedding, and the venue and event coordinator botched up some things such as the seating arrangement, cake placement & our agreeded upon entrance...is there any legal recourse or grounds to litigate. These mistakes turn our wedding into something that was upsetting!

Based upon the language in your question, I'm guessing you would like to take action against the venue and event coordinator. I'd need to know what the venue was to make an informed statement, however, unless you had a contract with them and set everything out in writing and these things were in the contract, I'm afraid there is no legal recourse. This would be a customer service issue rather than a legal issue. I suggest writing a letter to the president of the corporation of the venue and advising them of the situation and seeing if they would refund some of the money you paid, other than that, I could not provide any additional advice. I hope the marriage goes better than the wedding.

You probably had a contract with an event planner who was supposed to handle everything. If you did and it included specifications regarding the things you mentioned, then you may be able to sue for it. You could have an attorney review your service contract if you are unsure. Either way, you may want to try the letter writing route and ask for a partial refund to make up for these distressing mistakes. I'm sorry this happened and if you'd like a consultation, please call me. Regards,
