Legal Question in Immigration Law in Florida

Fiance is from Jamaica and is being detained, he has had a green card for 24 years, and has 2 children. He has a drug charge from 2009 that has since been closed. Is he at risk for being deported or should we seek an Immigration Lawyer?

He is absolutely at risk. A green card holder can be deported for having been convicted of drug possession and drug trafficking. See INA 237(a)(2)(B) and INA 237(a)(2)(A)(iii). Even if a case is closed, it can be considered a conviction for immigration purposes. The green card holder can be held without bond for this conviction too. See INA 236(c). Hire a lawyer, spare no expense and hire the best.
