Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

7 weeks late paycheck

I work part-time as a

contractor/consultant for a small

marketing firm in Maitland, FL. I

submit my invoices on a weekly

basis, as requested by my client and

the invoices state ''payment due on

reciept.'' They have gone for 7 weeks

without paying me. Since they

accepted my invoices as is without

making changes, are they in some

sort of breach by not paying me?

They are also standing in the way of

my finding other employment by not

letting me know, sometimes until the

morning of that day, if they will need

me to work that day. I am unable to

make arrangements to work

elsewhere, and I also need to

schedule daycare for our two year old

son. Do I have any legal recourse?
