Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

I am a licensed hearing specialist in Florida, I need to to have a certain amount of continuing education (CEU's ) to maintain my license. Every company that I am aware of pays for the ceu's, and pays for hotels and meals if the education center is more than 3 hours away for a two day seminar and this is considered part of the work week, meaning I would be paid for the two days.

I finding out now that the company I now work for will only pay $25.00 per credit which leaves me with a small balance of $50.00 out of my pocket. They also will not pay for hotels, meals and mileage reimbursement. And the most irritating things is I have to do this on my own time. Is this legal, being that if I don't have a license I'm not able to work. Thank you!
