Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Sales Commissions/Independent Contractor

I had a letter of employment stating I would be paid Commissions on or about the end of each month. After months of not receiving commission owed, and multiple letters sent to the employer. I was terminated. The employer has refused to pay the current and past commissions. The letter of employment gives no conditions. My termnation was because of my asking for the commissions. I have retained copies of all correspondence.

It sounds like you have a viable claim for unpaid wages under state and possibly federal law. You may also have a retaliation claim as well.
