Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

I have signed an independent contractor's agreement with a company based in FL, although I have been farmed out to a third party to actually work. I am now looking at leaving this position. There is a "reimbursement agreement" in the document, indicating that if I leave prior to 12 months (from the start of the contract), I owe them $1000, minus $83.34 for any completed months (of those 12 months). Is this enforceable? Is there any way to contest this clause, even though I signed the agreement?

It depends. The only way to know for sure is to actually review the agreement. Contact an attorney as soon as possible.
