Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

I am currently working in florida for a small taxi bissness and now my boss wants to start paying me in personal checks I'm allmost 100% sure that this is compleatly illigal and would like some varifacation that it is infact illigal if it is could you possibly point me in the direction of a web site I could go print out the laws for this subject so that when I aproch my boss I have something to back up me saying no so I'm not fired

As long as the checks are good, there is nothing preventing him from paying you in that manner. However, he must show the withholding taxes he takes every payday, the FICA (Social Security Tax) and the medicare tax he withholds from your check.

Make sure he is withholding taxes. But as long as his checks are good and he is following the law on tax withholding, I know of nothing which prevents him from paying you with a personal check.
