Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

Hello, a friend of mine had a major stroke and is in the hospital. He is unable to breathe on his own and can not talk or move but is able to communicate by answering with blinking he's eyes once or twice, etc. Here is the question, he lived with a girlfriend in a rental home and she will not let my friends son get his or his sons belongings. What can be done? Thanks in advance.

Why is there stuff in the rental? If they can prove ownership they can sue for return. It is an expensive proposition. Seek some legal advice.

First off, is there someone who can get a guardianship over your friend since he is unable to handle his affairs. I believe that would be the more important thing. As to the the rental - who is on the lease and/or who owns the property. If the friend is on the lease then there is no reason that the son can not get his things. I have a more questions but you did not give enough info as to the son.
