Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

we have a home in florida, we rented with intention to sign a lease. house was for sale at same time. Renters moved in just little over a month ago. we received an offer on the home and took it after offering to renters who declined. No signed lease. They are upset and we understand, they just moved in. what are our rights? they want 4000.00 to give up and walk away. we feel that is not fair. they have slandered us on facebook. we offered security deposit back in the beginning. They want first, security, and the amount paid for this moth minus some repairs done on the house which most we agreed to and they sent receipts for

If they pay monthly and have no written lease you can terminate the rental with the statutory notice. You don't owe them anything else. Hire an attorney to insulate yourself from the transaction.
