Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

Landlord agreed to 1yr lease at 1600/mo. Never gave me a signed lease like he promised. I have paid him every month for the past 6 months now. This month I have been texting/calling every day to try and pay him since the 1st, he has been refusing to accept payment, and now after 5 days, he said he is raising the rent by 300/mo to 1900 and demanding me to pay immediately. Please help.

Pay the full disputed amount into court so the judge can determine whether you have a 1 year lease or are a month to month tenant. I have heard this scenario many times which is why I would insist on a signed lease before moving in.

You can perhaps establish a year lease if you have written correspondence back and forth confirming it. You really need an attorney to review whatever paperwork you have to answer this inquiry.
