Owners have a right to raise rent 2 days before lease is up with out any prior notice?

Hi and thanks for asking your question. Generally, once the lease expires, the relationship is month-to-month. Thus, the owner can raise the rent and the tenant has the right to give notice and move. Unfortunately, the tenant has no other remedy against the owner once the lease has expired. Neither party is under any obligation to renew the lease upon expiration.
