Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

We rent a house and my dog got injured on a fence in the backyard...the fence is clearly not maintaine as a tree is growing through it seperating 2 sections of allowing there to be a gap big enough for a dog or person to get through...however there are nails sticking out. My dog got injured climbing out and i incurred a 565$ vet bill....do i have any right to make my landlord pay all or half of that bill?

I am unsure why you did not bring this to your landlord's attention when you noticed it upon inspection of the property prior to moving in. If you did bring the dangerous condition to your landlord's attention and they did not fix it, then you may have something to go with. I suppose there is no harm in asking the landlord to contribute, but I think you should discuss this further with an attorney and provide them with a copy of your lease too. Regards,
