rental Property Deposit Return

I placed a deposit with landlord for rental property that I had not seen to hold until I could arrive. I saw it and deemed it unacceptable. She refuses to return money.There is no written agreement. Can I get my deposit back?

It depends on what your agreement was. It was foolish of you to give her money with nothing in writing describing what the money was for. She will say it was not refundable and there is no proof to the contrary. You dfo not say what your agreement was. If a judge believes that it was refundable from the terms of the agreement, you get the money back. If a judge believes her, you don't.

Lesson learned, here.
