Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

I'm renting a 3 bedroom, for 765.00. That is the cheapest apartment ,we can find. The people here. Refuse to do anything to our apt. Very outdated. We have lived here for2 years.Air conditioner broke last year. And they are not trying to fix it. We have rats, awful smells coming from under the apts. In our water! They have other three bedrooms, but we can't move till our lease is up. There better, newer. We have offered to replace a bedroom, carpet at our expense. Due to my 20 year old daughter, with make up. These apts.are not real new. Their 55 years old.The floors have rotten wood, falling thru the carpets. And they have scabbies. That bite. Which I have scars to prove it. That bathtubs and kitchens are disgusting.

Why haven't you contacted the housing authority and health dept on these issues. Protecting your landlord is not doing you any good. Those organizations may be able to find you better accommodations for what you can afford.
