Surgery misdiagnosis

The VA told my husband he had cancer and did a full blown cancer sugery removing 1/3 of his lung, he developed ARDS, almost died and when biopsy came back it was not cancer - what can we do

If all that you say is in fact true, then there could very well be a case for misdiagnosis of cancer.
