Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Florida

Victim of Negligence.

I am a commerical pilot. I got the the tip (including the nail) of my right hand Index finger amputated. My finger was snapped between a string and sharp plastic edge of the aircraft door and severed at that very instant. An ER physician had a look at my finger. After about 1 hr he talked to another DR on the phone and came over to me and told me that its no point going through the painful procedure of putting it back since the tissue might have degenerated cause it was in direct contact with ice .That even if he put the finger tip back it will turn black and they would have to remove it back again. He also told me that he had not been successful in any of such operations he had ever done .he completely demoralized me for putting the tip of my finger back and told me that this doctor he had talked to regarding my finger would see me tomorrow and shape it a little. When I called up this Doctor the next day his office was closed for next 4 days and later I came to know that this doctor is a pediatric orthopedic surgeon though I needed a orthopedic hand surgeon.

Can I put pain and suffering case against the doctor and hospital and can you tell me any lawyers in Orlando that I can contact?
