Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

I complained , via email, to local city about neighbor leaving glass bottles on the swale ( a hazard and violation of code), outside the garbage container.

I provided pictures as proof.

The city gave the neighbors landlord (neighbors are renters) multiple citations, beyond the complaint.

However, instead of just doling out the citations, the city told the neighbor that this was initiated because of a neighbors complaint.

Now, I am the only real neighbor to these violators. The house in front of them is empty (foreclosure), and the house to their other side is also empty (I believe also foreclosure).

So, the landlord approached me today, and volunteered his phone number, and asked me to call him, if I had any issues with his tenants.

He told me the city contacted him and told him that a neighbor had complained about the bottles on the swale.

Hence, he now comes to me for this soft confrontation, as he concludes, to my face, that I am the only true neighbors (other properties are in foreclosure or vacant).

I believe the City violated my anonymous communication, especially since I emailed them from an anonymous email address, and never revealed my true identity; hence, emphasizing my need for privacy in the matter.

Now, I have reason to fear retaliation from these renter tenants, as they have loud, crazy party types on the premises, often.

I have a 16-year-old girl and a 7 year old boy, 5 year old boy, and 2 year old boy, and a wife.

The city, I believe, has violated my privacy rights and has reduced my safety via their actions.

Can I sue?

There is no right to privacy for making complaints to the city.
