Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

difference in settlement

I recently received a settlement in a personal injury case in the state of FL. after the Attorney took out for my medical and his expenses he cuts me a check for what was left.

he gave me a paper stating that all the medical bills would be paid in full. well I just received a certified letter from this lawyer stating that he made a mistake on one of the bills and that there is still a balance of $621.70 and that I am responsible for it. the rest of the settlement went to my bills, I am still in debt from the accident without this. am I responsible?

Yes. Legally you are responsible for the payment of all obligations. If you do not pay, then the medical provider will seek payment directly from you. This may include suing you in the county court and/or placing negative information on your credit history. You should speak with your attorney and convince him/her to negotiate a better amount with the medical provider who is owed the money.
