Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

A pedestrian walks in front of my car and I stop short and now she claims I ran her over and she is suing me for personal injury. My insurance is handling the case but should I get a personal lawyer and should I countersue since I am under a lot of stress over this and was pregnant at the time of the incident and they want to do a deposition at the end of the month but I am a high risk pregnancy with asthma and do not want to do this at this time

You dont have an independent claim related to your stress due to being sued. if your doctor says you cannot physically do the deposition than it can be cancelled. you don't need a private attorney, but you can get one. make sure to communicate to your insurance company that you want them to settle within the policy limits so you are not personally responsible for any payments.

Ask to appear by telephone but you must cooperate. If you have a limited insurance policy, you should seek your own attorney to protect your interests.
