Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

My current mortagage has been sold (the 5th time in 7 years). When we tried to call the new mortgage company for information on making our payment, we were told they "couldnt find us": in the sysytem. That we should wait a few weeks till all the new mortgages were "updated in the system". By the time they sent us any information (and at least 10 phone calls from us) it WAS the mortgage due date. We tried to pay it online so that it would not be late, but the online payment site kept telling us our loan number was "invalid" so we mailed a check. We got at least 6 phone calls from reps of the company telling us we had a late mortgage payment. After explaining the situation, we were told not to worry the payment would not show as late. (Why people continued to call after the 1st call is just beyond me)

We have been trying to get some information on our mortgage for weeks now, 20 minutes worth of prompts when we call, 5-6 calls before anyone calls us back, and the people who call us ALL have very heavy accents that are hard to understand and ALL cannot give us any information that we want. "Someone will call you back", and of course no one does. In addition, this does not appear to be a "traditional" mortgage company, it seems from the "speil": they say on the phone that this is some sort of a debt collection company who has purchased our mortgage. I've never heard of this before. My question, is there anyway I can get my old mortgage company to take our mortgage back? Is there any way (short of taking out a new loan with another bank/mortgage company) The situation is making us crazy, I'm afraid after 15 years of NEVER having a late mortgage payment, this company is going to screw up our excellent record with their ineptitude. Any suggestions you can offer would be appreciated.

Too complicated to answer on the Internet. I can only say hire an attorney or be really dilligent and keep records of phone calls and fail everything to them certified mail. Faxes are good to becasue of the fax confirmation. "In your corner."
