Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

My Father just passed away and I found out the mortgage company charged off his mortgage as a bad debt a few months ago

My question is what do I need to do I was told just to make sure property taxes are pain so the city cannot foreclose

You need to pay property taxes and any homeowner or condo association fees, if any. Associations can also foreclose. You also need to find out if there are any code enforcement liens. Realistically, you should have a title search done.
