Land Surveyor wrong measurements - consequences

When you plan to build a house, add things to your property like a well, irrigation, addition to your home, fencing etc., anything that needs a county permit you need a signed, sealed, embossed current survey from a professional licensed surveyor (PLS). Only a certain number of PLS is available in Florida. It is comment for large surveing businesses to keep the PLS at the office and send out crews to do the field work. The PLS signs the survey without ever seeing or measuring the property. What happens if the field crew makes big mistakes. The PLS doesn't catch wrong measurements. Permits are beeing pulled. When PLS catches mistakes he covers up. Any attorney in FL ever tried to proof a PLS wrong?

If you are concerned, hire another surveyor. I have negotiated into contracts on behalf of owners, that the licensed surveyor will be on the project at all times and personally supervise all aspects. Good luck.
