Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

My landlord refuses to fix issues in our rental home. Broken windows , plumbing, shelving garage door etc. Can we withhold rent and hire a handy man to make these repairs ourselves. These damages occurred before we moved in.

Your lease agreement controls your entitlement to withhold rents. There is a statutory provision under which you can do that as well, but the issues you reference do not likely support that AND you must follow the statutory procedure. Seek some legal help with all your paperwork.
