Re: how long is a second mortgage lien good for?

If the second mortgage was recorded, which they generally are, there is already a lien against your property. The recorded second mortgage is a lien, and such lien will run with the property until a satisfaction of such lien/second mortgage is properly executed (referring to the recorded second mortgage) and recorded in the county where the property is located. Undoubtedly, the second mortgage or lien, if left unsatisfied, will stand for a longer period of time than you or I will be alive on this planet. Seek the advice of a real estate lawyer. Good luck.
