Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

I paid my house off on Thursday. I will be receiving and escrow check. My name and father's are on the check. I would like half of it, as I paid 99% of the mortgage and need a lawyers letter stating such. Dad want's the entire amount and he is 95 years old. His name was only on my house, as I could not get the mortgage 29 years ago, he did not have a part in this home!

How much is involved? Hiring an attorney on an hourly basis can be a costly venture. Seek some advice from a local attorney. Writing the letter is a good start but may not end the process. Dad is not entitled to 100% of it unless he has a legal basis. At best he would be entitled to 50% of it.
