Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

I purchased a condo in S Florida April 2016. I just received a 2015 Fund Balance Deficit special assessesment. I did not own the property in 2015. Shouldn't that shortage have been disclosed on the estoppel letter and the previous owner be responsible for payment.?

You should have had an attorney represent you at the closing and that is who you would forward this request to now.

It is impossible to know on these facts who should be responsible. you need an attorney to review all paperwork, contract, closing, and estoppel information to determine who is responsible.
