i was renting an apartment my bf was staying with me . we were told if he was going to stay,he had to go on the lease. he was not approved . the reason for him not getting approved was his credit was bad . so the management had told me to move also . since we were together . was told to give a two month notice .After 2 months we did move . which cost money to relocate . then received a bill for rent for 10 days. plus utilies and carpet cleaning. i had turned in the keys on the 2nd . but got charged until the tenth the cost 500.00 i feel i should not have had to move . as well as not having to pay those expenses . my rent was never late. always on time.

Read your lease. Your rights and liabilities are in your lease. As for the charges, the lease may require the payment of these expenses; however, you may be able to challenge the amount.

Additionally, you may attempt to negotiate with the Landlord/Mgmt company for a reduced rate or payment plan.

Beware, they could harm your credit if you do not pay or work out some sort of arrangement.
