Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

I signed a lease with option to buy with my brother, put in most of the money to get this place. we both live here and both on the lease. we got into an argument and I stayed at my girlfriends house for 2 weeks. when I came home he told me that the real estate broker and the owner have taken me off the lease. is this legal? I thought that a lease was a legal contract.

Unless you abandoned the premises and failed to pay rent, they cannot take your name off the lease without you permission.
