Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

How can we stop a divorcing husband from getting a loan for a couple's home?

Dear Madam or Sir,

I am not sure how to start, this may seem like a divorce question but we need to know how we can use real property laws so my sister's property rights are not violated. We are Middle Eastern people who live in the US. We have a religion law that gives the man the power to divorce his wife. My Sister's ex husband just divorced my sister using our religion's rules. He earlier, threatened to divorce my sister and get a loan on the home they live in and take the money and run away leaving my sister with two children with no money from him and no home of their own. Now the home they live in is under his name alone. So my sister was not with him when he signed for purchasing the home. By the way the home is an apartment under mortgage but it has appreciated well. Is there anything that we can do to stop him from getting the loan and running away with the apartments money? Thank you for your help.

There are laws available however they may not coincide with your religious dictates.

It can be done. I suggest you consult with counsel, probably a matrimonial expert, as soon as possible.
