Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

I have been summoned to appear to give a deposition in a civil suit (in FL) between my neighbor and a manufacturer.

The lawyer for the manufacturer is the one asking me to appear to give a deposition this Thursday afternoon, and unfortunately I have a schedule conflict.

I asked him if we could reschedule and the only time he offered was a little earlier in the day, but he can't guarantee I'll get out in time for my business appointment.

So here's my question...

Can they refuse to reschedule the deposition or do I have a right to insist that they reschedule because of my schedule conflict? (I did give them more than 48 hours notice.)

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

You can insist that they move it. If you don't attend they would have to get order to show cause entered and you can then explain to the court what happened. They would have to reset after all that. The problem may be that they are under a discovery deadline and have to do it quickly If needed hire an attorney and have him

Intervene for you.
