Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

I was told in the state of florida if a home is going into forclosure, a third party(or person) could make a payment or payments in place of the mortgage holder and in turn inherit the morgage. Is this partly or entirely true, and if so would i have to sue in order to gain control of the home?
