Legal Question in Tax Law in Florida

The mother of my children was ordered to pay child support and has been but had a large past due amount that was unpaid. I recently just received a large lump sum payment paying off the past due amount and I believe it was because she has fraudulently claimed my kids on her tax return and the Department of Revenue took the money from her to pay the child support off. My question is, if that's the case do I sit on the money and not touch it? I'm worried that if I'm right about all of this that they will come back to me to get the money even though I'm not the one that filed a fraudulent claim.

Is this all speculation or do you have a good reason to believe this? If you are just guessing, then I don't think you have a duty to inquire where she got the money, but if you have actual knowledge or a very good reason to believe this, such as she told you, then you might want to consider setting the money aside in a special account and contacting an attorney to figure out your options.. Don't you have a divorce lawyer? Have you discussed this with him/her?
