Legal Question in Traffic Law in Florida

I ran a red light and the police pull behind me but do not pull me over athey did follow me to my destination once i have gotten out of my car and i am 2 feet away from the the building entrance the officer approaches me and ask me if the car belongs to me and i say yes they ask if they can search my car i said no twice. One officer writes me a ticket and gives me the ticket and as he is about to let me go another officer comes with the dog the dog walks around the car but did not bark or anything but still the officer goes into my pocket and gets my car keys and searches my car. My question is is that search an Legal search or not?
