Legal Question in Traffic Law in Florida

I just got a ticket in FL for running a stop sign, the I do have a CDL in FL you can not take the driving course to NOT get points on your license if you have this but the OFFICER told me I could take the course to n ot have the points on my license. NOW with that said he messed up when he did the ticket it says CLASS OF LICENSE: A Then it says is this s CDL he checked NO, what can i do i am willing to pay the fine but do not want the points on my license

In short, the officer is wrong. As a CDL driver it is irrelevant what he put on the ticket as it is the DMV and Fla. Statutes which say that a CDL driver can not elect school. Now, with that said, I have gone to court and with all my CDL clients, I have been able to get the judge to withhold adjudication to keep the points off. Of course, every case is different, and you need to talk to local counsel to see what can be done in your case.
