It depends on how they charged it. Driving with knowledge is a misdemeanor and can be punished by up to 60 days in jail or one year in jail, depending on prior record. If it is without knowledge, then you face up to a $500 fine, HOWEVER, if that is not properly resolved, then it could cause you to lose your license up to 5 years the same as the misdemeanors might. Additionally, a third offense is a felony, punishable by up to 5 years prison. If this is in the Tampa area give me a call and I can help you out.

It depends on your priors. If this is your third offense and is charged as criminal (driving with knowledge of the suspension) then you may face a third degree felony and up to 5 years in prison. Furthermore, depending on your driving record, if convicted you may be classified as an habitual traffic offender and face 5 years license suspension.

Meet with an attorney who can review your driving record and see if there are any legal bases to challenge this current charge.
