Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

I am 26 years old. My mother died when I was 15 My father has been remarried for 8 years and had been living in his and( my mother's house ). He recently passed away without a will. I had to pay for the entire funeral without any financial support for my step mother. She is now sueing me for the house and his entire estate. What can I do? How much am I entitled to? Am I entitled to any part that was my mother's? I understand that she has a life estate, which leaves me out in the cold. Can I be appointed personal representative? Will I have to wait the full year for probate court to distribute the estate?

The limited facts presented give me the impress that: Because your father did not leave a will, you may have a claim to an intestate share. Since you paid for the funeral, you should be able to get back that money from the estate.

I recommend contacting an attorney, quickly to dicuss this matter further.
