Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

I am buying a home in Florida. My name only on the deed. If I die does the state of Florida take my home because the deed didnt have another name on it?

The home will pass under intestacy laws if you do not have a will at the time of your death.

No. But it will go through a court proceeding to transfer whomever the intestacy laws provide if you have no Will. That will cost something to do and take some time.

You may want to consider some form of estate plan for beneficiaries if you want.
