Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

My father's trust does not prohibit who the required co-trustee can be but I am concerned about state laws. The trust was drawn in Florida and therefor Florida law should apply. My step brother is stepping down as co-trustee and I am wondering if my financial advisor in California can become the required co-trustee.

The trust should state what state law applies. It sounds like it should be Florida.

Florida law allows anyone over 18 to serve as Trustee. They don't have to be a Florida resident. Even certain corporations can serve.

So very possibly the financial advisor in California can serve, but must comply with Florida laws.
