Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

i paid my mom's back taxes so my families property would not be sold by the tax collector. she is now going to sell the property out right. i don't think that is fair. i paid all the back taxes, so on a sale i feel i should get my money back. she says no. that it was my responsibility. what can i do? i am in florida.

You can see her for the unjust enrichment she received. You can also place the world on notice of the pending claim against the property with a notice of lis pendens which will make sale difficult. There are down sides to this procedure including a slander of title action should your claim not be viewed as agains tthe property AND the sale falls through. Contact a local real estate attorney and get all your options. Intrafamily litigation is never pleasant.

Mr. Stein has given you good advice. You do not say however if this property is in Florida. The lis pendens will work in any state.
