Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

My parents are both in their eighties, they want to add me to their deed. We did a quick claim and took it to the courthouse they gave it back and said it needs to have verbiage about homestead exemption. I can find no quick claim examples that say anything about homestead exemption. What are our options here as the house is paid for and none of us are in a great place financially.

They are talking about taking away your parents homestead exemption because all three of you do not live in the house. i suggest you contact my office so that I can explain to you what you need to have done. (904) 997-1031

Unless you live in the property you will forgo the homestead exemption for your share of the property. this may not be the best method of transferring ownership to you. seek some legal guidance and help them develop an overall estate plan.
